Distance Learning Course Description



COURSE NAME: Economics Honors

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Saratoga Springs

INSTRUCTOR: Dean Bailey

Half Year

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Seniors only, taken in lieu of Economics

BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: This course is an in-depth survey of major economic principles,
institutions and problems in contemporary American life. The course is divided into two major areas:

1) macroeconomics (national income concepts, unemployment, inflation, monetary control) and

2) microeconomics (supply and demand, the price system, how the markets work).

Students should expect to complete several projects based on the content areas covered in this course.

Students must pass economics in order to graduate.
