Distance Learning Course Description



COURSE NAME: Pre Calculus

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Indian Lake

INSTRUCTOR: Stephanie Bennett

Half Year

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Successful completion of Regents Math B or Trigonometry.

BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: To prepare for Calculus by a comprehensive study of functions.
Function families to be covered include exponential, logarithmic, polynomial, and rational numbers.

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate the
understanding/application of the "Rule of Four" method of problem solving and be able to identify the
different characteristics of the types of functions studied.


OTHER NOTES / MISCELLANEOUS: A TI-83 graphing calculator is required.
