COURSE PREREQUISITES: 3 years
of high school mathematics including Algebra, Trigonometry,
placement testing, or Mat 129.
BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: A continuation
of mathematical topics including mathematical
modeling, function, linear, quadric, and polynomial application and
graphing, exponential and logarithmic
functions, analytic geometry and trigonometry, in addition to an introduction
to limits.
Course Objectives:
A. Students will develop the ability to perform algebraic operations
on functions, including sum, difference,
product, quotient, and compositions, and subsequent
applications.
B. Students will develop the ability to interpret and evaluate limits.
C. Students will develop a basic, and whenever possible, intuitive
understanding of the main topics of
the syllabus.
D. Students will develop a sufficient amount of mathematical maturity
to prepare them to study
calculus.
