Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: Spanish V - (University in High School)

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Mayfield

INSTRUCTOR: Veronica Swart

FULL YEAR

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Successful completion of Spanish IV

BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: A continuation of the active development of the four
communicative skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) within the context of the study of
different topics of Hispanic culture.

These topics include: differing concepts of the family, the geography and demography of
Spanish America, and the history of US relations with Latin America.

Course includes short compositions and videos. Students are expected to participate in all class activities.

Spanish is the language of instruction. The course may not be taken for college credit by bilinguals
or native speakers.

Students have the options of paying tuition for four college credits through the University at Albany
for "Intermediate Spanish I" at a reduced rate of tuition.
