Planning
for the road ahead - In the past fourteen
years the telecommunications technology that connects our Regional Distance
Learning schools has been through two significant technology platform
upgrades while maintaining a virtually seamless transition for the end-users.
DL platforms have traditionally been upgraded every five years. The last
conversion/upgrade to our regional network occured in 2003. There are
a number of compelling reasons to move forward with an upgrade/conversion
at this time.

The new rooms, as do all DL rooms in the Regional Distance Learning
Network, have the capacity to simultaneously connect interactively
with as many as three remote schools.
The photos to the left show how other
districts have adapted Distance Learning technology to meet
their particular needs.

now offering school bus driver training courses over the Distance
Learning Network for WSWHE BOCES sites.
If your school or a neighboring school has a Distance Learning
Lab, then it is possible to have your transportation staff attend
courses in your area without having to travel to Saratoga Springs.
By using its partnership in instructional technology with schools
in northeastern New York, WSWHE BOCES is able to provide a more
convenient and cost saving way for your transportation staff to
attend training programs and fulfill their state requirements.
