Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: AP Psychology

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Middleburg

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Should be a senior; 85 average in Social Studies courses; or a recommendation of
a Social Studies instructor.

BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: The Advanced Placement course in Psychology is designed to
introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of humans
and other animals. Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principals, and phenomena associated
with each of the major subfields of Psychology. The students also learn about the methods psychologists
use in their science and practice.

OTHER NOTES / MISCELLANEOUS: Successful completion of the AP exam will enable the student to earn
three college credits.
