BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: This course enables students
that have a particular interest or
aptitude to study U.S. History. The Advanced Placement Course
in U.S. History is designed to provide
students with the analytical skill and factual knowledge necessary
to deal critically with the problems and
materials in U.S. History. Students should learn to assess historical
materials - their relevance to a given
interpretive problem, their reliability, and their importance-
and to weigh the evidence and interpretations
presented in historical scholarship.
This Advanced Placement American History
course is equivalent to a full year introductory college survey
course in American History. Successful completion of this course
