Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: Child Development and Psychology

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Scotia-Glenville

INSTRUCTOR:

Half Year

MAXIMUM TOTAL CLASS ENROLLMENT - ALL SITES: no more than 12 students at the receive site if one site
receives class; no more than 6 students at each receive site if two sites receive class. Total 24

COURSE PREREQUISITES:


BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: In Child Development and Psychology you will explore a wide range
of topics related to child growth and development and nurturing skills. Prenatal development, infancy,
children's play, guidance and discipline, overcoming childhood issues and day-care options are some of the
topics investigated during this course. An overnight simulation with the computerized "Baby Think It Over"
doll will help you experience the challenges of parenting.
