COURSE NAME: Introduction to Computer Programming

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Salem

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Passing grade on Geometry Regents


BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE:

1) Introduction to computer programming. The structure and logic of computer programs will be learned while
learning TI-BASIC
2) Problem solving will be emphasized as a series of more complicated tasks are solved by writing programs in
TI-BASIC
3) The basics of an object oriented programming language will learned while learning the Java programming
language.
4) Students will write Java applications which run on almost any platform and Java Applets which run in web
pages.
5) ?Depending on Hardware/Software and strength of class, applications (apps) will be written in Java for
Android devices.
