COURSE PREREQUISITES: Algebra I Regents passing score


BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE:

The purpose of this course is to teach students mathematics related to the real world in their personal lives
as well as in business. The course has three parts.

Part 1 gives students the opportunity to review and strengthen the skills previously learned dealing with
percent, fractions, decimals (money), and calculators.

Part II is the most extensive part of the course. It includes may different personal, consumer applications of
mathematics for students to use in preparation for the real world.

Part III is an attractive addition to the course in that it introduces students to different topics of business
mathematics as well.
