BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE:

An inspired and student-led exploration of some of the great stories, anecdotes, quotes, maxims parables
and proverbs found in human history. In the process, how and why language moves and inspires people, and
why stories and maxims are an especially effective means of doing so, will be considered and discussed.
Along the way, students will not only surface material for discussion but will conceptualize, craft and present
their own original motivational stories, quotes or maxims.

Dance like nobody’s watching and love like it’s never going to hurt. Spend less time on how you look and
more on how you see. They say nobody is perfect. Then they tell you practice makes perfect. I wish they’d
make up their minds. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you were?
