Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: French Cinema and Conversation

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Catskill

Maximum Total Class Enrollment - All Sites: 10 Students per recieve site.

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Successful completion of French III & Regents Examination in French. Grades 11 &
12.

BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: This course is designed to further develop student's language
proficiency through the use of French films. Through watching and critical analysis of films, students will
improve their listening, oral, and writing skills while getting a sense of some of the important features that
are particular to French culture. The conversation component is designed to take students beyond the
functional ability that they gained in lower levels of French.

OTHER NOTES / MISCELLANEOUS: This course will be offered every other year opposite French 4. It will not
be offered for college credit.
