Distance Learning Course Description



COURSE NAME:Innovators and Entrepreneurs for the 21st Century

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Johnsburg

INSTRUCTOR: Steve Tomb

HALF YEAR

COURSE PREREQUISITES: It is advised that students who are irresponsible and uninterested in their own study and learning avoid this course.


BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE:

This course focuses on the innovators and entrepreneurs as well as the products and ideas that are
impacting and changing our society in the 21st century. This course is an active learning course in which
students will research, investigate, design and present a product or idea in which they want to bring to
market.

Students will develop an 'elevator pitch' for their idea and write a complete business plan in this semester
long course. This is an academically rigorous course. It is expected that students will be committed to their
own education and learning by reading up to 20 pages an evening as well as completing writing assignments
and projects on time. Assignments will not be accepted past their due date.
