Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: Personal Finance

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Indian Lake

COURSE PREREQUISITES:

BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: This course is designed to cover the basic financial tools a student needs to know before entering adult life.

The course will include, but is not limited to: Personal financial planning, the fundamentals of investing,
investing in stocks, investing in mutual funds, Real Estate and other investments, retirement planning,
creating a budget and charts in excel, creating amortization tables and understanding loans, income taxes,
managing a checkbook, using credit wisely, insurance, and career exploration.

This course is great for all high school students. The topics covered are topics that are better to understand
early on in life. This is one of the most beneficial, life skills courses offered. The world is a challenging place
and getting more and more challenging all the time, so why not learn all you can about these topics.
