COURSE PREREQUISITES: None, except not to be used as a replacement for an English class - Writers not
loafers wanted


BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: Those devoted to writing will be immersed in a creative world of
ideas. From the writing of rhyme and meter to the exploration and imitation of stream of consciousness to
the rules and restrictions of sonnets to the post-modern world of free verse - this course covers them all. In
addition, some of the Western Canon's greatest poets are studied.

The teacher has taught this course for 18 years and has 2 published books of poetry on the market. This
class is very interactive.
