BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: This one-year course will
introduce students to probability and
statistical concepts and models that are most commonly used in
real world analytical work. Applications will
come from a variety of areas.
Topics would include, but are not limited to, frequency distributions,
measures of central tendency and
dispersion, linear regression and correlation, sampling techniques
and design of experiments, basic probability
concepts, discrete and continuous probability distributions, the
central limit theorem, sampling technology for
computations and analysis.
Students may receive four college credits from Hudson Valley Community
College for MATH 135 Elementary
Statistics (spring semester).
