COURSE PREREQUISITES: Juniors or seniors who
are serious students.
BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: A systematic introduction
to the major elements of public speaking
concepts for understanding the structure and dynamics of delivering
information in oral presentation.
Major topics include an introduction to public speaking, audience,
feedback, support materials, organization,
language, delivery, and ethics. Students will be expected to craft
and deliver their speeches to the class and
provide constructive criticism.
Students will receive a grade each quarter worth 40% of their
final grade. Each student will complete a final
presentation worth 20% of his or her course grade at the end of
the semester.
OTHER NOTES / MISCELLANEOUS: This course
could be offered each semester.
