Distance Learning Course Description


Name of Course: Spanish IV (North Country Community College Credit Available)

School District: Malone Central Schools

Instructor: Alicia Kissane

Length of Course: Full Year

Prerequisite: Spanish III

Description: Spanish IV

The primary objective of Spanish IV is to improve speaking skills. This is obtained by a variety of projects
such as: readings, research projects, treasure hunts, debates, discussions, games, movies, slides, tapes,
music, student teaching and computers.

Secondary objectives include improving reading, note taking, listening, and writing skills. Direct contact with
media from Hispanic countries, foreign exchange students, and cultural materials are provided whenever
possible.

Authentic videos are watched, authentic short stories are read and interpreted and an in-depth preparation
for Spanish V is achieved. Students study the culture of South and Central America.
