Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: Statistics (SUNY Adirondack)

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Granville Central School District

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Cumulative math average of 85 or higher, successful completion of the Math B
exam, 3 years of math, and teacher recommendations.


BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE:

This course is a college level "Introduction to Statistics" course through SUNY @ ACC. Tpoics that are
covered include introduction to statistics, describing, exploring and comparing data, probability, probability
distribution, normal probability distributions, estimates and sample spaces, hypothesis testing, and correlation
and regression.

The course involves extensive use of the graphic calculator (Texas Instruments TI-84+) as well as the
Internet. The graphic calculator is required for the course.

Students who earn an 85% average will get 4 college credits for the course.

OTHER NOTES / MISCELLANEOUS:

There is a fee associated with this course, which is the responsibility of the student.
