COURSE NAME: Transitions: High School to the Rest of Your Life (The Real World)

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Indian Lake

INSTRUCTOR:

HALF YEAR

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Grades 9-12


BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: Transitions is a course for any students 9-12th grade interested in
learning skills necessary to be successful in high school, as well as making the transition from high school into
the real world.

Many topics will be covered such as:
" Life Etiquette
" Tools for High School Success
" What happens after graduation? (Life and Career options)
" Examining Military Service
" College 101 (How do I make this happen?)
" Job Searching and Interviewing Skills
" Managing Money and the Basics of Personal Finance
" The Game of Life
" Civic Responsibilities and Opportunities

This course proves to be a valuable course for any students at the high school level. These are real life
topics and skills that everyone needs to develop to be successful beginning with high school, and continuing
through adulthood.
