Prerequisite: French III

Description: This course is designed to increase the listening and speaking skills of students. This is obtained
by a variety of projects such as: readings, research projects, debates, discussions, games, movies, slides,
tapes, music, student teaching and computers. Students will be encouraged to carry on lengthy
conversations and presentations in French.

There will be several short stories and novels read which will introduce students to French literature and
cultural values as well as improve their reading ability. Students will write essays, critiques and stories in
French with some competency. The general atmosphere of this level is informal and conversational.
