Health is a one-semester course that is required by New York State for High School graduation.

The focus of this course is to equip students with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to pursue
healthy lifestyles and to be competent at making decisions that will enhance lifestyle.

Topics covered include wellness, mental disorders, suicide/death and dying, stress management, media
literacy, fitness, nutrition, eating disorders, substance abuse prevention (tobacco, alcohol, drugs), human
sexuality, and parenting education.
