Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: Math & Financial Applications

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Math A


BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: A one unit course designed to develop the specific skills required to
solve a wide variety of mathematical problems commonly found in every day business situations such as
payrolls and budgeting. Students will also study a wide variety of personal finance topics such as income tax
returns, checking accounts, loans and interest, and acquiring and maintaining credit.

Successful completion of this course within the prescribed guidelines will provide one unit of credit, which
may be used as one of the two units of mathematics required for a local diploma or as one unit of a three-
unit local mathematics sequence.
