BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: In this course students will read literature with a strong underlying
scientific theme and research the accuracy, validity and history of the science depicted.

Students will also discuss current topics in science and its relevance to the local and world community.
This distance-learning course will rely on group discussions and projects to gain scientific literacy as well as
assess student knowledge.

Literature chosen will be based on student interest and teacher selection. This course is designed for
students who have completed two science courses and need a third course to complete NYS science
graduation requirements.
