The Character Connection

Wednesday, October 25 and Thursday, October 26, 2006

6:30 - 8:00 p.m.




Authors take time to create characters that their audience will
be able to relate to and ultimately connect with on some level.

Participants in this workshop will read literature that
encourages and directs meaningful conversations between
parent and child through powerful literary characters who teach
us lessons about positive ethical life decisions.


Part one will involve deep literary discussions on required books;

Part two will provide discussion techniques for parents to use with their children on these poignant pieces of literature.

  The books & materials listed below are required for The Character Connection:
  • Whirligig by Paul Fleischman

  • Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen

  • Give A Boy A Gun by Todd Strasser

  • Please bring a Pen and Pencil

  • Also Please bring a Composition Notebook
