BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION
/ OUTLINE:This class looks at the methods used to communicate
agricultural issues to the consuming public. Given the perceived
risks associated with the food
we eat, chemicals in the environment, and the expanding use of
biotechnology, consumers need timely
explanations of the nature of those risks.
Students develop skills in planning, organizing, composing, and
revising messages, as well as evaluating
past and present practices of communication between the agricultural
community and the public.
OTHER NOTES/MISCELLANEOUS: Open to students in grades 9-12.
