Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: Animal Science

SCHOOL DISTRICT: St. Jounsville

INSTRUCTOR: Mr. Michael Settle

COURSE PREREQUISITES: none

BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: Animal Science looks at the various roles that animals play in their
relationship with people.

Animal product production, animals as pets, animals as sources of power, and the uses of animals for
recreation are included.

The feeding and care of animals, as well as consumer concerns, welfare, and animal behavior are studied.

Activities include the incubation of eggs, care of small animals, and the maintenance of the aquariums in the
class lab.


OTHER NOTES/MISCELLANEOUS: Open to students in grades 11-12.
