Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: French IV - V / (SUNY)

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Schalmont

INSTRUCTOR: Kathy Fagan

FULL YEAR

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Satisfactory completion of the NYS Comprehensive Regents Examination in French.

BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: This advanced course offers further study of the French language,
culture, and literature. The class provides a thorough review of grammar and aims to refine the following
skills: vocabulary enrichment, reading, composition, and conversation. Students will cover a variety of topics
designed to meet their interests and talents. A study of one major literary work is required. As an option,
students can receive college credit (three credit hours for one full year) in conjunction with the SUNY Albany
University in the High School program.

OTHER NOTES: To exercise th option of receiving college credit, student must pay a nominal tuition fee and
maintain a C average in conjunction with SUNY standards.
