COURSE NAME: Globalization

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Schalmont

INSTRUCTOR: Bronson Knaggs

Half YEAR

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Juniors or seniors who are serious students.


BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: A systematic introduction to the increasing integration of economics
around the world through the movement of people, information, and goods across international borders.

This course will include a brief history of international trade, an explanation of absolute and comparative
advantage, a look at current trade agreements and restrictions, a debate on the merits of free trade, the
expansion of global markets and capitalism, and the broader cultural, political, and environmental dimensions
of globalization.

Students will receive a grade each quarter worth 40% of their final grade. Students will complete a final
research project worth 20% of their final grade.

OTHER NOTES / MISCELLANEOUS: This course is designed to prepare students to succeed in their post high
school studies.
