BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: The History
Through Film is a general survey course in which major
and some minor historical events, themes, and concepts are examined
and discussed through film.
In addition, various aspects of the cinema will be taught and
discussed. As a result, students will learn about
both history and film at the same time.
Students will be expected to attend all classes in order to view
all films, and critiques of each film viewed will
be formulated by students. These critiques will take the form
of essays, discussion, and even group
projects/work.
