Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: Holocaust

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Cobleskill-Richmondville

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Global Studies I & II

BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: This course is designed to trace the history of anti-Semitism
throughout the world and events leading to the Holocaust. Particular attention is given to the rise of
Nazi Germany and the life of Adolf Hitler.
Facing History as Ourselves is the supplementary text used
in the course. The state syllabus is followed using a variety of materials. One, possibly two, field trips
are planned. Video materials used include: Nazi documentations, NBC Holocaust Series, Survivor Interview,
and
Schindler's List. Students will have quizzes periodically and a series of projects due throughout the
semester.
