COURSE NAME: Introduction to Occupations II

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Cohoes

COURSE PREREQUISITES: none

BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: This course contains two modules:

A. Human Relations/Decision Making: Designed to assist students in understanding the fundamental
elements of human relations, their importance both personally and on the job, and develop the ability
to solve problems and make decisions. Topics: good interpersonal relations skills; essentials of good
grooming; development of values; recognize accepted standards of ethical behavior; apply problem
solving / decision making skills; dealing positively with change and conflict - personally and on the job.

B. Economics of Work: Designed to make the student aware of the role of the worker and consumer in
our economics system. Content of this module builds in basic economic concepts and applies them to
various components of our market economy.
