Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: Latin Level IV / V

SCHOOL DISTRICT: South Glens Falls

COURSE PREREQUISITES: The previous levels are necessary prerequisites to participate in this course.

BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE:

3 credit hours for French V from SUNY/Albany for students enrolled in the University in the High School Program.

3 credit hours for Spanish I from SUNY/Albany for students enrolled in the University in the High School Program.

This course is a two-year course, alternating between the studies of prose and poetry. Some of the unique features of this course are the studies of the poets Virgil, Ovid, Horace and Catullus. The prose selections may feature the works of Cicero, Sallust, Phaedrus, and Gellius. More emphasis is placed on comprehension and use of literary figures of speech. The previous levels are necessary prerequisites to participate in this course.
