Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: Math (Accelerated Math 7)

SCHOOL DISTRICT: St. Johnsville

COURSE PREREQUISITES: None


BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION/OUTLINE: The purpose of this class is to prepare the students for the
accelerated Math track. It will allow them to take Math A in grade 8, Math A/B in grade 9, Math B in grade
10, Pre-Calculus in grade 11, and Calculus in grade 12.

Topics include: Algebra, positive, negative, and rational numbers, solving equations and inequalities, word
problems, Geometric figures, areas, and volumes, ratio, proportion, percent, and problem solving, the
coordinate plane, right triangles, probability, and statistics.

Most students in this class have been recommended to be there by their sixth grade math teacher.
