Distance Learning Course Description


COURSE NAME: Microsoft Certification

SCHOOL DISTRICT: Berne Knox Westerlo

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Grades 11-12.


BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION / OUTLINE: This course will study two of Microsoft's most popular application
programs, Word 2000 (word processing) and Excel 2000 (spread sheets).

Topics in Word include: formatting, editing, tables, and creation of business letters, memos, Web pages,
newsletters, macros, and advanced desktop publishing. Topics for Excel include: creating spread sheets,
tracking and updating data, and creating graphs and charts for data collected.

The acquisition of proficiency (MOUS) certification will benefit students planning to attend college or those
entering the workforce after graduation.


OTHER NOTES / MISCELLANEOUS: Access to computers will be needed. Exam: Microsoft MOUS
