BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION/OUTLINE: This course is intended as an elective course

for students interested in science fiction and fantasy. Students will focus on issues that may be of concern
to future societies as discussed in various science fiction short stories.

Students will also read a full-length fantasy novel independently, investigate critical interpretations of the
literature, and write a short piece of science fiction and/or fantasy.
