Program Developments:
- The Distance Learning Network is a state-of-the-art integrated
voice, video, and data network, one of the first of its kind
in the state.
- The ATM network standard has allowed for the expansion of
distance learning into new areas:
- Four schools, Corinth, Hadley-Luzerne, Johnsburg and Moriah
completed DL installations this year.
- Regional interconnections to districts in other BOCES
Regions such as Broome-Tioga, Cayuga-Onondaga, Oneida-Herkimer-Madison
and Oswego continue to expand our regional course opportunities.
- A videoconferencing gateway at the Regional Distance Learning
Support Facility, allows schools to use their Distance Learning
classrooms to connect to anyone across the country or world
with basic videoconferencing equipment (for electronic field
trips, discussions with experts in a particular field, and college
courses).
- Most Distance Learning schools are using the distance learning
network for data services as well, including Internet access
and library automation.
